My goal in setting strategy for the Research Department is aimed at developing therapies for unmet medical needs. The mission of AlerGenetica's research department is to keep the company's focus in our unique methodology that is what it makes us different from other companies.
We are expecting over the next few years moving new research projects into development that will come to the market.
The major focus of AlerGenetica is Protein Expression for which we count with the most advanced technologies. The identification of the allergenic fungal proteins and cloning of the genes is done by our scientists which are leaders in cloning, the identification of novel proteins and protein expression.
Our Bioinformatics department includes individuals with dual backgrounds in biology, software engineering and programmers and use advanced computational methods for data mining.
To understand better the reactions of individuals to fungi, especially in the area of allergy we try, in our department of Immunology, to understand the innate and adaptive immunity. This knowledge helps us to understand the mechanisms and gives us the opportunity to discover first-in-class therapies to attenuate, modulate or cure fungal related diseases.
Our research group is extremely competent with a mixed background in the key areas of our company, from fungal genetics and human immunology to detection of bio-molecules. Our team is composed at the moment of scientists from four different nationalities that have published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and have developed a dominant list of non-expired patents worldwide and patent applications pending worldwide. Our scientific team will drive AlerGenetica to success providing different points of view and complementary techniques to solve in a global manner complex problems.
